14 Jun Overflow Stories #2
Previously on Game of Thrones, she was feeling overwhelmed by the battles of what seemed to be a recurring theme of stress and anxiety…….Oh wait, I am talking about my real life and not a fantasy world. One quiet weekend morning, precious time was discovered to meditate on The word and to rest in His Presence. Words washing over me, words from prophesy long ago, arriving in the present and speaking in to the future. I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you, plans for a hope and a future. More peace, more joy than you can comprehend or contemplate- Overflow!I linger a little longer, in awe of the presence of peace, wanting to remain ensconced in the chair: wrapped up in joy. What a contrast to the anxiety I felt a few weeks ago. A few weeks ago feeling sick of fretting: in a moment of decision I had chosen to trust God rather my feelings but still unsure of the future outcome.
Still pondering with wonder that God is speaking to me in this brief encounter with him, I decide to move on with the daily chores. Walking into to the laundry I discover an overflow of water gushing over the sink and saturating the floor. Without any inclination of panic I quietly remark to myself, oh well at least the floor is being washed!
I believe God wants to teach us more that the theme of ‘Overflow’ is not just a distant dream, but a reality that we can step into.It has not always been an easy journey for me to trust God and not to worry, but I can see the step by step transformation of confidence unfold in my life as I keep choosing to seek and trust in Him
I encourage you to make space in your day to meet with the one who wants to be our source of joy, that will overflow from our lives to encourage others.Romans 15 v 13:“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”Love,Sharon
