Overflow #10

Overflow #10

Do you trust me?
It’s a good question. A quiet whisper in the still of night.
With a super busy patch at work I’m in danger of slipping into that “trusting in myself” space. Got my “to do” list. Got my A game -get it done -face on. 🤩
Been working hard. Been pushing through.
The down side is I’m awake at four in the morning. My heart is racing for no apparent reason and I’ve got that itchy skin thing happening that only happens when I’m pushing the envelope on a project.
….and then comes that quiet whisper in the still of night.
Do you trust me?
I’d like to answer yes but the truth is … clearly I’m not.
BUT the good news is that in the question lies the answer.
Trust me
Have faith in me
Listen to me
Obey me
Romans 15:13
“May the God of hope fill you with all peace and joy as you trust in him…”
As we trust in the God of hope He will fill us with all peace and joy.
What a revelation!
Trusting in yourself looks a bit like this:
Act
Act
Act
Stress Out
Fall apart
Cry
Pray
Trusting in God looks more like this:
Pray
Listen
Act
Peace. Rest. Sleep. Joy.
My prayer is, that if you find yourself in a similar situation to me, that you would return to that place of faith. In trusting in God. The outcomes lie with him. We work on the process but ultimately the results lie with Him. And He is for us. He has creativity, ideas and strategies aplenty for ALL that we have need of. He desires our best and can help us if we let Him. If.
With that 4am question I got the message. I let go. I handed my workload, concerns and anxiety over and whispered back,
“Yes Lord”.
Peace fell.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13
