Overflow #6

Overflow #6

I nearly laughed out loud when I saw this picture posted up by a friend on
We all know that feeling right?
Utter exhaustion
When my boys were babies (15 months apart) I was sooo tired. Once I fed the
cat and came back 30 minutes later to find the tin of cat food on the floor
with the spoon in it, and the plate of cat food in the fridge!
Feed yourself cat.
Another time I got up in the night to a baby crying, walked straight into a
door and ended up in the bathroom with blood pouring from my forehead bawling
my eyes out – I still have that scar.
Seriously you want me to overflow?
To the lady in the picture I want to scream. Just move your cup!!!
To me, all those years ago I want to scream. Just move your cup!!!
The coffee is flowing. Help is at hand.
You need to re-position yourself.

“May the God of Hope fill you with all peace and joy as you trust in him, so
that you may overflow in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”
I think a key to overflow is “as you trust in him” – to put yourself in a place of faith.

The Word
Church attendance
Godly friendships

When we are tired and busied-out (from family life, work, study, or too many late nights) these
disciplines and relationships can fall away. As a result we move away from the source, the flow. We
barely have enough for ourselves let alone anyone else.
So my encouragement to you today is to reposition yourself. Make time for the things that will fill
your cup and you will overflow

“Seek me and live” Amos 5:6
